This book was interesting to read, although it covered some difficult subject matter (all types of death, child molestation, screwed up families, etc) and the plot lulled at times. I really liked the heroine, Annette. The book follows her through a terrible childhood (and a strong friendship) and then on to adulthood (where friendships change). I was a little disappointed that some of the plotlines had not been wrapped up by the end of the book (I didn’t know it was part of a series).
